She's Gonna Crush Obama

In terms of political satire, the now year-old contributions of Obamagirl definitely come from the shallow end of the pool. Like JibJab four years ago, each successive video demonstrates the law of decreasing returns. And - aside from the fact that their producers are likely not Obama supporters - at the end of the day, they're just not...good.

But don't take it from me. Take it from SCIENCE!

I find it odd that one of the lowest troughs in the reaction graph coincides with Bill's sax solo. Not sure I would have predicted that. That was on Arsenio. Remember The Dog Pound? That was an underrated show. Anyway: notice how the negativity increases in inverse proportion to the amount of clothes worn by Miss Ettinger. And not just among the gals. Guys, too. Take that, Pavlov!

If I may, sir: Mr. Hall was not underrated. He did beat the great Johnny Carson in the ratings for a while--generating SNL's "Carsinio." That is, of course, before he disappeared into the ether like a ninja...

Yeah, he wasn't underrated at the time, but I don't think history has been as kind to him as others. That's the price of being fresh and topical. You're all the more stale when your expiration date has passed. And I still remember an SNL skit with Jason Priestley appearing as one of the New Kids on the Block on Arsenio (played by Chris Rock). Hilarious song: "I went downstairs / to get some juice / it was good and fresh / and I love you! / Oh, girl, you are wicked Awe-some!"
